FAQ
Are we affiliated with the Grateful Dead?
No, we are not affiliated with the Grateful Dead.
What is this site about?
This site is a collection of games that test your knowledge of the Grateful Dead band.
How does the color system work?
Green means the song is correct and in the right position.
Yellow means the song appears somewhere in the setlist, but not in that slot.
Red means the song does not appear in the setlist at all.
When does the puzzle reset?
A new puzzle is available every day at 1:00 AM Eastern Time.
Does everyone get the same daily puzzle?
Yes. The daily challenge is the same for every player on a given day, and it updates together at 1:00 AM Eastern Time.
Can I play previous days' setlists?
Not yet, but it's something we'd love to add in the future!
What do the difficulty settings mean?
Easy: The search dropdown only shows songs from that day's setlist.
Medium: The dropdown includes the setlist songs plus 20 additional red herrings.
Hard: The dropdown includes every Grateful Dead song in our database.
Where does the setlist data come from?
We sourced our setlists from whatever information we could find across the web and acknowledge they may not always be complete or perfectly accurate. If you spot something wrong, please reach out to us at gratefulgrid@gmail.com and let us know!
How do you handle shows with an unknown exact day?
When the month and year are known but the exact day is unknown, we use 00 for the day in our source data (for example, 1966-01-00). In the game this is shown as a month/year with a note that the exact day is unknown.
